Rivers State recorded 62 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 7,849 with 7,420 discharged and 102 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its official website on Thursday.
In total Nigeria recorded 566 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – 283, Akwa Ibom-88, Oyo-62, Rivers-62, FCT-18, Ogun-17, Ekiti-12, Kwara-11, Plateau-6, Zamfara-3, Kaduna-2 and Katsina-2.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 176,577 with 165,323 recovered patients, and 2,178 deaths.
Meanwhile, the agency has urged Nigerians to obey all covid-19 protocols as it has recorded 32 cases of the deadly Delta variant in five states so far.
