Rivers State recorded 41 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 7,960 with 7,462 discharged and 102 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its official website on Saturday.
In total Nigeria recorded 473 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – 323, Akwa Ibom-46, Rivers-41, FCT-20, Ekiti-12, Osun-9, Oyo-9, Ogun-6, Bayelsa-3, Anambra-1, Edo-1, Nasarawa-1 and Plateau-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 177,615 with 165,472 recovered patients, and 2,185 deaths.
Meanwhile, the agency has urged Nigerians to obey all covid-19 protocols as it has recorded 32 cases of the deadly Delta variant in five states so far.
