Rivers State recorded 22 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3,398 with, 3,130 discharged and 64 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country.
In total, Nigeria recorded 397 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (144), Plateau (83), Kaduna (48), Adamawa (36), Rivers (22), Oyo (16), Kebbi (10), Nasarawa (7), Sokoto (7), FCT (5), Kano (5), Edo (4), Jigawa (3), Ogun (2), Akwa Ibom (2), Niger (1) , Bauchi (1), and Zamfara (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 84,811 with 71,357 recovered patients, and 1,264 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has stated that the virus, which causes COVID-19 is more likely to spread in mass gatherings especially when held indoors.
