COVID-19: Rivers State Records 23 New Cases

Rivers State recorded 11 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 6,842 with 6,529 discharged and 98 deaths.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.

In total, Nigeria recorded 187 new Cases. Ondo recorded the highest number with – 42, Taraba-29, Edo-17, Abia-13, Rivers-11, Kaduna-10, Katsina-9, Oyo-9, Kwara-7, Plateau-7, Ondo-5, Bayelsa-4, Cross River-4, Ogun-4, Osun-4, Akwa Ibom-3, Borno-3 and Nasarawa-3.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 161,261 with 146,395 recovered patients, and 2,027 deaths.

Meanwhile, the NCDC has said that the Astrazeneca vaccine is safe and has no side effects.
