Rivers State recorded 80 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3,818 with, 3,313 discharged and 65 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country.
In total, Nigeria recorded 1,544 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – 739, Plateau-168, FCT-153, Oyo-91, Nasarawa-90, Rivers-80, Kaduna-35, Edo-33, Kano-29, Ogun-21, Delta-19, Sokoto-16, Akwa Ibom-11, Ebonyi-11, Enugu-10, Osun-10, Niger-9, Bauchi-8, Kebbi-8, Katsina-2, Taraba-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 97,478 with 78,552 recovered patients, and 1,342 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC, has said that mosquito control helps reduce the risk of Yellow fever infection.
The commission urge Nigerians to ensure they: Get rid of stagnant water, Keep their environments clean, Keep water containers covered properly and wear protective clothes when they sleep at nights.
