Rivers State recorded 64 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 4,745 with, 3,879 discharged and 77 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 1,483 new cases, being its highest daily figure. Kaduna state recorded the highest number with – 545, FCT-235, Plateau-127, Nasarawa-80, Oyo-72, Delta-65,vRivers-64, Kano-46, Ogun-46, Bayelsa-30, Gombe-30, Abia-28, Osun-27, Edo-25, Ondo-14, Sokoto-12, Zamfara-10, Bauchi-8, Imo-5, Jigawa-4, Ekiti-4, Borno-4 and Niger-2.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 118,138 with 94,150 recovered patients, and 1,490 deaths.
The NCDC, has said that as schools resume across the country, authorities must take responsibility to ensure;
Temperature checks at entry points.
Compulsory use of face mask.
Provision of hand-washing facilities.
Classrooms are well ventilated.
