The Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Lahteh Loolo has announced that the recently held protest by some members of the LGA calling for the release of the convicted manager of Prodest Hotel, Dr. Bariledum is illegal.
The Chairman who stated this to Journalists today, said the protest was against the social distancing directive of the state government. This is due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the state. Loolo who expressed displeasure at the move warned against the repetition of such illegal act.
Lolo noted that the council will not fail to deal decisively with anyone who goes against the directive of the government, henceforth. He furthermore commended the state Governor for proactive measures taken so far in the fight against the virus in the state.
You would recall that scores of half naked women protested yesterday at Eleme LGA. They called for the release of their son, Dr. Bariledum Job, manager of the demolished hotel. The manager had been arrested and convicted by the state government for violating the directive of the government on the closure of hotels in the state.
