Weeks after US President, Joe Biden tested positive to COVID-19, his wife Jill Biden has tested positive to the dreaded virus.
The White House, in a statement on Tuesday, said Jill tested positive for Covid-19 and developed mild symptoms.
According to Elizabeth Alexander, Jill’s Communication expert, the first lady tested negative on Monday but developed “cold-like symptoms late in the evening.
She also said a subsequent rapid antigen test was negative, but a more detailed PCR test was positive, adding that she has been prescribed a course of the oral antiviral pill Paxlovid and will isolate for at least five days.
Jill Biden’s case comes nearly a month after the president first tested positive for COVID July 21, shortly after returning from a trip to the Middle East.
