The Federal Government of Nigeria, says it directed states to stop issuing the COVID-19 vaccines, once they use half of the doses allocated to them to enable those who received the first jab get the second.
The Federal Government had in a statement directed state governments to stop giving the jab, once they have given up to half of the total doses they received.
Minister of State for Health, Oloruninmbe Mamora, made this known during the media briefing of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, on Tuesday.
He said it was important that those who already received their first jab complete their vaccination, as they are not sure of when to get the second batch of the vaccines.
He also said one cannot take the AstraZeneca vaccine, on the left and another one on the right, as both have to be doses of AstraZeneca.
