The Rivers State Government, says 154 persons have lost their lives to the dreaded Covid-19, since its outbreak in the state.

The State Commissioner for Health, Princewill Chike said this in a chat with journalists, on the mass vaccination programme of the state government.

He said the government is doing everything humanly possible to reduce the spread of the virus and also prevent a fourth wave of the pandemic.

He revealed that about 12,651 cases have been effectively managed and that 52 percent of residents of the state have been fully vaccinated.

Chike, revealed that the figure places the State at first position in the South South and Second nationwide in terms of vaccination.

He urged residents to continue obeying all covid protocol and make themselves available for the jab at government approved centres, as it is safe and has no side effect.
