The Rivers State Government has reacted to an order of court restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission from releasing Rivers national register to the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission for the conduct of LG elections.
State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Joe Johnson in a statement Today, said Okocha lacks the right to drag the government to court as he has not participated in any of the processes leading to the election.
According to him, Tony Okocha is not the authentic Chairman of Rivers APC, adding that Emeka Beke remains chairman of the party, and that they are currently preparing for the forthcoming poll.
He noted that the election will hold as planned amid the ruling.
