Justice Rilwanu Aikawa of the Federal High Court in Kaduna has postponed the hearing of the bail application filed by former Kaduna State governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, to April 14.
The application was heard on Tuesday, April 1, during which the court entertained arguments from both the defence and prosecution before granting the adjournment.
El-Rufai is facing a 10-count charge brought by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, involving alleged misappropriation of public assets and money laundering. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Following the proceedings, the court directed that he be remanded in ICPC custody pending the determination of his bail request on the scheduled date.
The former governor arrived at the court premises at about 9:00 a.m. in a black Hilux vehicle, escorted by officials of the Department of State Services (DSS).
