The Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt has dismissed a ₦20,999,000 claim filed by Sam Egento Company Ltd against the Rivers State Government and two other defendants over alleged damage to its truck at Mbiama.
The ruling was delivered in Suit No. PHC/3408/CS/2022 by Justice M. Opara of the Port Harcourt Judicial Division.
The state Ministry of Justice in a statement said, the court upheld the defendants’ position that the claimant failed to establish a link between the alleged damage and officers of the Rivers State Internal Revenue Service.
The defendants were represented by Dr. Ibelema B. Diepriye, Assistant Director at the Rivers State Ministry of Justice, who presented the defence on their behalf.
The Ministry described the judgment as another victory for justice and the Rivers State Government.
