
Jacques Yhombi-Opango, 81, former president of the Republic of the Congo, has died after contracting the Coronavirus.
Opango who led Congo-Brazzaville from 1977 until he was ousted in 1979 by the country’s current leader, Denis Sassou Nguesso, died in a Paris hospital on Monday.
The son of the former president, disclosed to AFP news agency, that his father was already ill before contracting the Coronavirus.
