The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State has reacted to the ruling of a Federal High Court which sacked its governorship candidate, Arch. Tonye Cole.
Justice, Emmanuel Obile in a ruling Today ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to derecognize Cole as the APC flagbearer on grounds of dual citizenship, not being duly nominated by his political party and non compliance with provisions of the Electoral Act.
However, spokesperson of the party in the state, Darlington Nwauju in a statement described the judgement as “Microwave judgement.”
He said the court cannot say it has done Justice on the position of the law on citizenship, adding that Cole is eligible to contest elections in the state.
He urged party faithfuls to remain calm as the ruling will be challenged at the court of Appeal.
