Spokesperson of the Tonye Cole governorship campaign council in Rivers State, Sogbeye Eli has reacted to Gov. Nyesom Wike’s advise to Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to spend money on Cole as he does not stand a chance of winning the election.
Wike, had advised Tinubu not to invest in Tonye Cole’s campaign when he visited him yesterday at Government House in Port Harcourt.
However, Sogbeye Eli in a statement Today, said Wike was telling Tinubu not to sponsor a man who has seen and was handling billions at a time he has no cent in his account traceable to one job outside government.
According to him, Tinubu knows that Tonye Cole can comfortably hire Wike as his company secretary and pay his salaries to pensions and gratuities.
Part of his statement reads,
“… But let me advise you, don’t spend any more money on your governorship candidate here. Says a man sponsoring the keeper of his loot with funds belonging to the Rivers State Government.
Wike, thank you for insulting a man who sat atop the corporate ladder in the oil and gas sector after incorporating Sahara Energy Group with his business partners before you were Called to the Nigerian Bar in 1998.
You’re telling Bola Ahmed Tinubu that about a man who has seen and was handling billions at a time you had no cent in all your Accounts traceable to one job outside Government. You that Asiwaju himself knows Tonye Cole can conveniently hire as Company Secretary/Legal Adviser and pay your monthly salaries to pensions and gratuities?
