Civil Defence personnel gunned down in Rivers

Decries spate of attacks on personnel.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has lost another of its personnel to the nefarious activities of vandals in Rivers State.

The victim, a chief corps assistant identified as Godwin Mbula was shot dead when suspected vandals invaded the shell manifold at Gio on Saturday. 

Media assistant to the NSCDC Commandant General, Gbenga Ekunola who revealed this via a press statement conveyed the CG’s resolve to hunt down the perpetrators of the act. He said the Nation was facing challenges with unrepentant vandals but expressed the corps’ willingness to reduce their activities to the lowest minimum. 

The NSCDC boss also decried the spate of attacks on it’s personnels all over the country. You would recall that an assistant superintendent of corps was killed in Benue State just last month.
