The Deputy National President and former President of the Traders Union Congress (TUC) in Rivers state, Chika Onuegbu has called on the Rivers State Government to carry-out massive COVID-19 testing in the state.
Chika Onuegbu in a statement today, warned against assumptions that the state is free from the virus despite the discharge of the two index cases in the state. He said, residents still need to be cautious and continue to practice good respiratory hygiene.
The former TUC Boss in the state, urged the government to go beyond shutting down of businesses and embark on massive testing to ensure the state is truly free from the pandemic.
The Deputy National President of the TUC further noted that the leadership of the congress, NLC and other organizations are working together to ensure that the impact of the COVID-19 is minimized on workers.
