The Center for Democracy and Development (CDD) has announced that report making rounds that the Federal Government has approved 30,000 relief fund for all Nigerians is false, describing it as a hoax.
The centre in a statement noted that investigations carried out shows the messages are from online scammers who wants to lure innocent Nigerians into providing their personal details including account numbers and Bank Verification Number (BVN).
CDD was reacting to a WhatsApp message it saw on Sunday, June 14 2020, claiming that the Federal Government has approved N30,000 as palliative for every Nigerian, which will serve as relief fund due to the COVID-19.
