The Rivers State INEC Returning Officer, Professor Charles Adia, has suspended collation for the February 25th Presidential elections held in the state citing a threat to life.
He adjourned the collations of presidential results until further notice, following threats to his life over the results from Saturday’s poll. At the commencement of today’s collation of results, Adia said the adjournment will continue until the State Resident Electoral Commissioner addresses the situation.
Earlier, Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, had vowed that those behind the threat would be fished out and prosecuted, assuring of his adequate security.
