Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, has confirmed his departure from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing prolonged internal crises within the party.
Obi’s exit follows an earlier report on Saturday, which indicated that both he and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, were set to leave the ADC.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Obi said his decision was driven by what he described as “endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division” within the party structure.
