The Federal Government has offered a new national minimum wage of N62,000, to the organized labour – who are now demanding for N250,000 from its initial request of N494,000.
This was revealed after several hours of negotiations between the government and labor on Friday.
However the Tripartite Committee on New National Minimum Wage adjourned sitting as there was no consensus at the meeting.
The organized private sector also backed the government offer of N62,000
Recall that Labour had earlier warned the government that a token increase on the initially proposed N60,000 would be rejected.
