A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has once again stopped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from holding its planned national convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The court also restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from supervising, monitoring, or recognising any outcome of the proposed convention, where new national officers were to be elected.
Justice Peter Lifu issued the order on Tuesday while ruling on an application filed by former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido.
Lamido had dragged the party to court, alleging that he was unfairly denied the opportunity to obtain the nomination form for the position of national chairman, effectively excluding him from participating in the exercise.
