The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, has announced the dissolution of all standing committees within the council with immediate effect.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, the chairman said the directive affects committees such as Sanitation, Road Transportation/Decongestion, Marine, and other ad-hoc groups earlier set up by the LGA administration.

He ordered all affected officials to return council property in their possession to the Office of the Chairman without delay.

However, the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre (BIRC), Government Liaison Officers (GLOs), and the Revenue Committee were exempted from the dissolution.
