Report has it that a bank manager of one of the new generation banks at Onne, Eleme Local Government Area, Rivers State, has died of complications from the dreaded COVID-19.
Some staff of the bank have equally tested positive for the virus after the NCDC carried out tests on them. They have so far been moved to the isolation centre for observation and treatment, while the bank have been sealed by the NCDC, the report confirmed.
Residents have been thrown into panic, following the development as the state continues to record increase in COVID-19 cases. The state currently has over 600 confirmed cases of the virus, with 25 deaths.
Governor Nyesom Wike had raised alarm over the increase in the number of cases, warning residents to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene while obeying directives of the government. He had also warned public organizations to ensure they maintain and obey COVID-19 protocols inline with the directives of the government.
