The Secretary of Bakana Transport Association, Idamiebi Duke has called for the renovation of the Bakana Jetty before it collapses like that of Isaka, which occured few days ago.
Duke, in a statement on Monday, said the jetty is old and needs to be renovated.
According to him, the bad state of the jetty is also destroying their boat and that the cost of maintenance is high.
He commended President, Buhari for the award conferred on late Joe Blankson, adding that he deserved it for his bravery.
He said since the incident that claimed Blankson’s life three years ago, measures have been put in place to avoid a recurrence.
