Sen. Lee Maeba has said that the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Okon Effiong may end up destroying his career over comments that the attack on his home may have been stage-managed.
Maeba’s House in GRA, Port Harcourt was few days ago invaded by thugs who destroyed properties in the building and allegedly injured his elder brother.
The Senator, had claimed that whilst the attack lasted he called the CP but, he refused to pick his calls and did not return them.
However, the CP in a statement denied the claims stating that he was in operation on the day of the incident, and that his phone was inside his car.
He revealed that Maeba only called once after which he mobilized officers to the scene immediately he heard what had happened.
The CP also said he found it questionable that only old and rickety cars were destroyed while the luxurious cars were left untouched.
Reacting to the CP statement, the former federal lawmaker threatened to sue the Police boss over what he described as bias investigation on his property attacked by suspected thugs.
Part of his statement reads,
We will challenge him in court to tell us how an investigation came up with that investigation.
Police Commissioner who conducted an investigation into an attack on my home within 48 hours.
Have you heard that before? He did not ask me anything. How does he reach that point?
The Commissioner of Police may end up completely destroying his career.
