Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has sued President Bola Tinubu at the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking his disqualification from the 2027 presidential election over alleged forgery of an NYSC certificate.
Atiku and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) also asked the court to compel INEC to produce Tinubu’s Form CF001 for the 2023 and 2027 elections.
Atiku said the case was filed to allow the judiciary to determine the authenticity of the certificate and whether discrepancies in the name constitute a constitutional ground for disqualification.
Meanwhile, lawyer Kalu Kalu has petitioned the European Union in Brussels, alleging that Tinubu submitted false academic credentials to INEC and violated constitutional provisions ahead of the 2027 election.
The Presidency and INEC had not responded to the allegations as of the time of filing the report.
