Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has arrived in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, to support the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Dr Najeem Folasayo Salaam, ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
Atiku, who arrived in the state alongside a delegation of political associates, said he was in Osun to participate in the grand finale of the ADC’s campaign.
In a statement, Atiku said the delegation was in the state to rally support for Salaam, popularly known as Iwaloye, and make a final appeal to voters ahead of the election.
He urged the people of Osun State to entrust the ADC with the responsibility of providing purposeful leadership and good governance.
“We are here to rally support for our candidate and make a final appeal to the people of Osun State to entrust the ADC with the responsibility of delivering purposeful leadership, good governance and a better future for all,” Atiku said.
The former vice president expressed confidence in the party’s candidate as the ADC intensifies its campaign ahead of Saturday’s poll.
