APC chieftain Ayekooto Akindele has alleged that the 2027 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, are secretly acquiring shares in the Dangote Refinery through its recently launched Initial Public Offering (IPO).
Akindele made the allegation in a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday while responding to criticisms of the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
According to the APC chieftain, Atiku and Amaechi were allegedly investing in the refinery while their supporters were advocating for the return of fuel subsidy.
He wrote: “Atiku and Amaechi are secretly buying Dangote Refinery shares but their uninformed illiterate followers are shouting ‘Bring back subsidy.’ May we not be foolish in our lives.”
The allegation was presented by Akindele as part of his criticism of those calling for a return of fuel subsidy under the Tinubu administration.
However, no evidence was provided in the statement to substantiate the claim that Atiku and Amaechi are purchasing shares in the refinery
