The Rivers State Government has urged the leadership of Ogbakor Ikwerre Worldwide to caution the people of Ogbum-nu-abali community to allow and accept the dualisation of their roads due to the enormous benefit it will attract.
Governor Nyesom Wike made the call when the leadership of Ogbakor Ikwerre paid him a courtesy call at Government House Port Harcourt today.
He informed the delegation that the state government has approved the contract for the dualisation of the Eastern Bypass road. This he said is part of his administration’s urban renewal programme.
Wike who noted that there is a resistance from the community urged the leadership of Ogbakor Ikwerre to caution the people to accept the development.
He said the rents they collect from shops on the road which will be affected by the project cannot be compared to the huge benefits they would get from the road when dualised.
