Frontline Niger Delta Activist and Founder of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force, Asari Dokubo has commended the Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei-led NDDC for the completion of the commission’s headquarters in Port Harcourt.
Dokubo thanked the MD when some leaders of the region visited Pondei, at the newly built headquarters of the commission in Port Harcourt.
“From OMPADEC till now, we have been abandoning this building. Today it is a reality, others may not know but to us this building is an achievement,” he said.
Asari urged the MD to monitor contracts and projects by the commission to ensure that they are completed. He equally called on the MD to help change the narrative of the region, and bring about the desired development the region has been yearning for.
“I believe that most of these projects previously approved do not add value to our people, there are so many projects that can be achieved if supervised properly. I see creeks being cleared, creeks that have not been cleared in hundred years, most of the food in the region is not from here, if there is proper mechanism to supervise these projects, they will work,” he said.
Prof. Pondei in his remarks commended Asari and the group for their support, while promising to bring about the needed change in the region.
