The Chairman of Asari-Toru local government Area, Hon. Onengoyeofori George has promised to continually uplift the standard of education in the area.
The Asalga Media Team in a statement said, the chairman, disclosed this when he lead a team to distribute 2000 pairs of shoes to nursery/primary pupils in the area.
The team also said the school children were excited and full of joy while appreciating the Chairman for such kind gesture.
The statement reads,
The Asari-Toru LGA Chairman, Hon. Onengiyeofori George led a team to personally distribute school shoes to over 2000 nursery/primary school children and he assured the pupils of his continuous intervention to uplift the educational standard in the LGA.
The visit started with Krakrama community where Hon. Onengiyeofori George personally supervised the distribution of the shoes to school children and further advised the kids to take their academics serious and ensure they are punctual in school.
Hon. Onengiyeofori George also promised to ensure our nursery/primary school pupils would be provided with school uniforms on or before the resumption of the new session in September, 2023. This is to ensure that our school kids would appear in neat uniforms to replace old and torn ones thereby improving their self-esteem and confidence.
The team later moved to schools in other communities within the LGA such as Abalama, Ido and Buguma where same school shoes were distributed.
The school children were excited and full of joy while appreciating the Chairman for such kind gesture and they promised to be serious with their studies to guarantee excellence in their academics.
