The Student Union Government at the University of Port Harcourt, has reacted to the arrest of students of the institution by the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over alleged internet fraud
SUG President of UNIPORT, Comr. Gift Uba in a chat with journalists Today, said the arrested students should be given fair hearing.
According to him, the EFCC Chairman in the state told him that millions of naira were found in the accounts of the suspects, and that they have been unable to explain the source.
He also said he was informed that the suspects had pleaded guilty to the crime.
The EFCC had last week arrested about 74 Suspected fraudsters who are students of the school at Alakahia and Choba junction.
