Some aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress, in Rivers State, have called on the National leadership of the party to cancel last Saturday’s local government congresses held in the state.
The aggrieved party members, in a chat with journalists, said the congresses were hijacked by the party’s leadership in the state, loyal to Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi.
They said party members loyal to Sen. Magnus Abe were not allowed to participate in the process.
A leader of the party in Oyigbo LGA, Christian Ajaelo, alleged that names of some persons who emerged during the process were changed by the Minister of Transportation.
Meanwhile, Senator. Magnus Abe had in a statement on Sunday, in Eleme accused Chibuike Amaechi of trying to shut him and his supporters out of the party.
He said such move would fail as he is one of the leaders of the party, and nobody can oust him from the party.
