A farmer identified as Comrade Gift Chu has reportedly been attacked by suspected herdsmen in Eteo, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Spokesperson of the Eteo Youth Council, Comrade Joseph Gwegwe, confirmed the incident, stating that the victim was assaulted on his way back from the farm on Saturday.
This latest attack comes amid rising tension in the area following the recent killing of another farmer in a separate suspected herdsmen attack in Tai Local Government Area.
As you may know, some Ogoni youths staged a peaceful protest in Port Harcourt few days ago over the rising spate of herdsmen attack in the area.
