Another fire outbreak occurred Today at the JDP round-about by Peter Odili Road, making it the fifth fire incident in a space one week. Properties worth millions of naira were gutted.
A tricycle shop and a cash sum of N500,000 was said to have also been razed by the fire.
Some persons who were affected by the fire said some thugs allegedly from a nearby community, had attacked a scrap metal shop. After a brief quarrel with the owner of the shop, the thugs poured fuel on the shop and set it ablaze. The fire quickly spread to other nearby shops.
Owner of one of the shops who identified himself as Wisdom who designs tarpaulin covers for tricycles said he just stock his shop with goods after he returned from Aba yesterday before the hoodlums invaded the area setting the shops ablaze.
