Leader of the Network for Defence of Democracy and Good Governance, NDDGG, Amb. Sonomabo Jackrich has criticised the Rivers State 2022 budget presented to the Assembly by Governor Nyesom Wike, stating that it is without specific figures and details.
Jackrich, in a statement yesterday, said the budget lacks realistic action plan to revive and boost the economy of the state to ensure Infrastructural and Human Capital Development.
He accused the State House of Assembly, of being pressured and cowed to failure, and urged them to show due diligence in the passage of the budget tagged “Budget of Consolidation.”
He advised the Assembly to carryout a public hearing before its passage into law to enable stakeholders make contributions.
Jackrich who challenged the state government to make the budget public when passed, said the move will show that the House is transparent.
