The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule, has empowered 100 beneficiaries from Obio/Akpor Local Government Area with a total of N100 million under the Agriculture 2 Wealth Programme – Phase III.
Each beneficiary received N1 million after undergoing practical training in poultry production, livestock farming, aquaculture and crop production.
The initiative, according to his media aide, Martins Wachukwu, is aimed at combining financial support with practical agricultural skills to enable beneficiaries establish sustainable businesses and improve their livelihoods.
The programme’s approach is designed to move beyond one-off financial assistance by equipping participants with the knowledge and capital required to build viable agricultural enterprises.
The beneficiaries’ training included hands-on farm-based activities intended to make the skills directly applicable to their businesses.
