AMAECHI’S SERVICE TO RIVERS STATE PUTS HIM IN THE CLASS OF DIETTE SPIFF, HIS LEGACIES CAN’T BE ERODED BY A THOUSAND HATE SPEECHES.
Alabo Tonye Graham Douglas was a four-time Cabinet Minister in Nigeria. Among other things, he influenced the emergence of Governors in Rivers State, influenced the creation of several local government areas in the state and led a successful agitation for the emergence of a Nigerian President of South-south extraction, right from 2003.
What other political curriculum vitae would anyone need having served his state so meritoriously, in order to earn the honour of being buried by one’s own state? These questions would agitate the mind of any right thinking leader, if HE Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, made such a comment last Saturday at Abonnema, it wasn’t out of place. He would never go out of his way to make a political capital out of the burial of an elder statesman.
The world can now judge and see who is struggling to be politically correct, having openly bruised the ego of the Graham Douglas family by campaigning with whatever assistance the Rivers State Government allegedly extended to the family in the past.
Did the Rotimi Amaechi administration not extend a hand to cater to countless of such humanitarian needs when he was Governor?
