Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, has said that the previous administration did not conceptualize the Opobo/Andoni Unity Road as reported in some quarters.
Wike, who disclosed this during the commissioning of the road on Saturday, said the project was conceptualized by the administration of Sir. Dr. Peter Odili.
He commended Odili for the project, adding that without his foresight it would have been extremely difficult for his administration to complete the project.
“Dr. Peter Odili conceptualised the Opobo/Nkoro Road and who ever claims 1% or 5% is irrelevant. We have brought road to Opobo Kingdom and I think that is what matters,” he said.
On his part, Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja said the previous administation only redesigned the project but never added a kilometer to the road.
