Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has approved the first tranche of financial support towards the medical treatment of veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu.
The development was announced by Okey Martins Justice (JMartins), Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment to the governor, in a statement shared on social media.
According to him, the governor intervened following reports about the actress’ health challenges and approved the initial payment of her medical bills.
“His Excellency @alexottiofr has just stepped in on the health issues of our Nollywood legendary actress Mrs. Ngozi Nwosu to approve the first part of our medical bills. While we sincerely appreciate His Excellency, we still appeal to kind-hearted Nigerians to please support her in any way possible. On behalf of the creative industry, we all thank you immensely, my leader,” JMartins said.
Nwosu had earlier made a public appeal for assistance after revealing that she was battling health challenges and struggling to meet the cost of her treatment. The governor’s intervention has since drawn commendations from members of the public, with many wishing the veteran actress a speedy recovery.
