A commercial bus with passengers inside has been hijacked by heavily armed gunmen at the Omerelu axis of the Port Harcourt – Owerri Road.
Sources say the passengers were moved into the bush after the driver was shot on the leg.
It was gathered that the bus was on its way to Port Harcourt from Owerri, the Imo state capital when the incident occurred.
The Rivers State Police Command is yet to confirm the incident. Efforts to reach spokesperson of the command, DSP, Grace Iringi Koko have not been successful.
