Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has criticized former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, over recent remarks condemning the Nigerian government.

In a post on Sunday via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Olayinka accused Amaechi of hypocrisy, pointing to the former minister’s prolonged presence in government since 1999.

“After spending 23 years in government — eight years as Speaker, eight as governor, and seven as Minister — Rotimi Amaechi is still blaming the government. Some people sha no get shame,” Olayinka wrote.

He added that Amaechi had only been out of public office for two years, questioning his moral ground to complain. The remarks follow Amaechi’s recent statement in which he claimed he and many Nigerians are experiencing hunger.
