Rodney Basil Price, popularly known as Bounty Killer, in a recent interview spoke on the success of Afrobeats on the global scene, dancehall and other interesting topics around the two genres.
While speaking in the interview, the DJ made it known that the emergence of Afrobeats on the global scene does not mean it is the end of the road for Dancehall in that same space.
On Afrobeats, the patois DJ opined that Afrobeats only has melodies and themes, but lack Lyrics. To back up his claim, Bounty cited Burna Boy’s smash tune ‘Ye’, claiming that the song, like other Afrobeat songs, lacks lyrical content.
