President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, describing the victory as a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in Nigeria.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, in a statement said Tinubu had earlier called Adeleke to congratulate him on his electoral victory, noting that the outcome confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in the governor.
Tinubu urged Adeleke to use his second term to unite the people of the state and work towards growth, stability and socio-economic development, regardless of their political affiliations.
“I wish him great success as he prepares to lead the state for the next four years,” the President said.
He also commended other candidates who participated in the election for the courage and discipline they displayed, saying their participation further strengthened Nigeria’s democratic culture.
President Tinubu said the election outcome reflected the will of the people and praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
