Former Guinness World Record holder for marathon cooking, Hilda Baci, has announced plans to break a new record by cooking the world’s largest jollof rice pot. The announcement was made public on Monday through a video shared on her Instagram page, which quickly went viral.
Hilda revealed that the ambitious feat will involve cooking 250 bags of basmati rice in a specially designed pot with a capacity of 22,619 litres. She detailed the pot’s massive dimensions, saying it measures 6 meters in width, 1.1 meters in height, and 1.3 meters in depth, expressing confidence that it will remain stable during the cooking process.
The record-setting event is scheduled for September 12, 2025, and is expected to feed 10,000 people, combining culinary spectacle with community impact.
