About 500 staffers of the Atlanta-based Delta Airline have tested positive for COVID-19, while ten have died from the virus.
This is according to the firm’s CEO, Ed Bastian, who made this known in the organisation’s annual shareholder’s meeting.
The CEO also outlined the economic impact of coronavirus on the airline industry when he said “We could never have predicted how quickly the coronavirus pandemic would upend our plans as demand for near-term air travel dropped to almost zero in a matter of weeks”.
Bastian also asserted that it could take years for the industry to recover.
