The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has disclosed that 411 people lost their lives while scooping fuel in 2024 across Nigeria.
The Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed, made this revelation during a press briefing on the agency’s 2024 special patrol operations held on Monday in Abuja.
Mohammed further reported that 21,580 traffic offenders were apprehended between January and December 2024 across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He noted that 31,154 individuals sustained injuries in road crashes during the year, a slight improvement compared to 31,874 recorded in 2023, marking a 2% decrease.
