Derecognised former governor of Rivers State, Sir. Celestine Omehia has said that Rivers State is for Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.
Omehia, said this during a stakeholders meeting in Uyo the Akwa Ibom state capital on Sunday.
According to him, 70 percent of Rivers PDP Members are ready to vote for Atiku, and that they will do everything humanly possible to deliver the South South region to the PDP.
He stated that the era when people sit in their homes to write results is over, and that with the new system of voting, nobody can write results anymore.
Omehia, explained that a lot of positions have been ceded to the South South region already, and that more will come after the PDP wins next year’s election.
He revealed that Vice presidential candidate of the party and governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, the campign Council Chairman, and Political Adviser to the presidential are all from the South South region.
He commended the party for the recognition, and stressed that the region must work to ensure the victory of the party in 2023.
The meeting had leaders and stakeholders of the party across the country in attendance.
The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and his supporters boycotted the meeting.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), will today flag off its presidential campaign in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The presidential campaign, is expected to hold at the Nest of Champions Stadium, Uyo at 10 am.
